VP Kamala Harris Secures The Democratic Nomination
According to WESH, Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison announced on Friday, August 2, that Harris secured enough votes to become the partyâs nominee for president.
Harris reportedly reacted to her accomplishment via a phone call âwith supporters.â
âItâs not going to be easy. But weâre going to get this done,â she reportedly said. âAs your future president, I know we are up to this fight.â
Harrison reportedly explained that the Democrats âwill rally around Vice President Kamala Harris and demonstrate the strengthâ of the party at the Democratic National Convention, which is reportedly being held later this month.
The VP Sends THIS Message To Donald Trump About Their Presidential Debate
According to CNN, on Friday evening, Trump took to Truth Social to say he would not participate in his and Harrisâ upcoming debate, which was scheduled to be held by ABC News on September 10. Instead, Trump is reportedly alleging that he will only take part in a discussion that will be held by Fox News on September 4.
On Saturday, August 3, Michael Tyler, Harrisâ campaign communications director, reportedly responded to Trumpâs words.
âDonald Trump is running scared and trying to back out of the debate he already agreed to and running straight to Fox News to bail him out,â Tyler reportedly stated. âHe needs to stop playing games and show up to the debate he already committed to on Sept 10. The vice president will be there one way or the other to take the opportunity to speak to a prime time national audience. Mr. Anytime, anywhere, anyplace should have no problem with that unless heâs too scared to show up on the 10th.â
Furthermore, Harris herself even took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to Trumpâs message.
âItâs interesting how âany time, any placeâ becomes âone specific time, one specific safe space.â Iâll be there on September 10th, like he agreed to. I hope to see him there.â
