VP Kamala Harris Secures The Democratic Nomination
According to WESH, Democratic National Committee Chair Jaime Harrison announced on Friday, August 2, that Harris secured enough votes to become the party’s nominee for president.
Harris reportedly reacted to her accomplishment via a phone call “with supporters.”
“It’s not going to be easy. But we’re going to get this done,” she reportedly said. “As your future president, I know we are up to this fight.”
Harrison reportedly explained that the Democrats “will rally around Vice President Kamala Harris and demonstrate the strength” of the party at the Democratic National Convention, which is reportedly being held later this month.
The VP Sends THIS Message To Donald Trump About Their Presidential Debate
According to CNN, on Friday evening, Trump took to Truth Social to say he would not participate in his and Harris’ upcoming debate, which was scheduled to be held by ABC News on September 10. Instead, Trump is reportedly alleging that he will only take part in a discussion that will be held by Fox News on September 4.
On Saturday, August 3, Michael Tyler, Harris’ campaign communications director, reportedly responded to Trump’s words.
“Donald Trump is running scared and trying to back out of the debate he already agreed to and running straight to Fox News to bail him out,” Tyler reportedly stated. “He needs to stop playing games and show up to the debate he already committed to on Sept 10. The vice president will be there one way or the other to take the opportunity to speak to a prime time national audience. Mr. Anytime, anywhere, anyplace should have no problem with that unless he’s too scared to show up on the 10th.”
Furthermore, Harris herself even took to X, formerly known as Twitter, to react to Trump’s message.
“It’s interesting how ‘any time, any place’ becomes ‘one specific time, one specific safe space.’ I’ll be there on September 10th, like he agreed to. I hope to see him there.”
