Karpowership Ghana has planted 3,000 trees at the Chipa Forest Reserve near Shai Hills and the Achimota Basic School in commemoration of Green Ghana Day.
The trees seedlings at the Achimota Basic School were planted together with the students. Karpowership Ghana together with the forestry commission took time to educate the students about the essence of trees and the need to nurture and protect our green economy.
This event underscores KarÂpowership Ghanaâs commitment to environmental sustainability and teaching the next generation about the importance of a green economy.
The Communications Manager at Karpowership Ghana, Ms SanÂdra Amarquaye, said, âKarpowerÂship Ghana has been an active parÂticipant of Green Ghana Day since the day it was instituted, KarpowÂership so far has planted a total of 11,000 trees across Ghana.â
Ms Amarquaye passionately enÂcouraged the students to become advocates for trees and the enviÂronment. âI urge you all to become friends of trees, to plant them, care for them, and protect them because if the last tree dies, the last person dies,â she said, inspiring the young minds to take active roles in environmental conservation.
Ms Ernestina Anie, Public RelaÂtions Manager at the wildlife DiviÂsion of the Forestry Commission (FC), rallied support saying, âthe Forestry Commission as part of our functions, educates and creates awareness on the protection and conservation of forests and the wildlife resources.â
Sharing his experience, EmmanÂuel Okyere, one of the particiÂpants, commended the FC and Karpowership for the initiative saying, âI have learnt how and why I should plant trees, nurture them to grow and I also planted a tree today.
âItâs been a very educative proÂgramme, to me it has rekindled my love to be part of the conversation and actions that will lead to Ghana preserving our green economy. Thank you very much KarpowÂership Ghana and the Forestry commission,â Sophia Ayeih, Vice President of the Wildlife club â Achimota Basic School.
