Kate Gosselin seemingly denies she caused her kids’ estrangement following son Collin’s viral TikTok

Kate Gosselin seemingly clapped back after son Collin Gosselin’s recent TikTok insinuated he and his siblings were “forced apart” by her.

After Kate took to TikTok Monday to share that she returned to her nursing career, a fan took to the comments thread and shared a screenshot of Collin’s TikTok, in which he claimed his mother “pitted” the siblings “against each other” leading to years of estrangement.

“He knows why..😢” Kate, 50, responded, apparently denying she was responsible for the estrangement.

The clapback comes days after Collin, 21, shared a tender throwback pic with all seven of his siblings on August 7.

“Born to be a team, us against the world…” he wrote atop the photo, following it up with a pic of himself solo in a car. “Forced to do it alone, and wonder every day what our lives could’ve looked like,” he wrote atop the second pic, which was accompanied by Adele’s song “Hometown Glory.”

“Forced apart, pitted against each other,” the reality TV alum captioned the emotional message to fellow sextuplets Alexis, Leah, Hannah, Aaden and Joel, 21, and twin sisters Madelyn and Cara, 24. “All the fame and money in the world, but what about kids being kids?”

“I will always love them more than anything,” he continued. “The tears I shed behind closed doors, thinking about the memories we could’ve shared. I love you guys.” Collin added a red heart emoji to the post.

Collin did not immediately return Page Six’s request for comment.

The family’s landmark TV series “Jon & Kate Plus 8” aired on TLC from 2007 to 2009. After Kate obtained custody of the children following the former couple’s divorce in 2009, an amended version of the show, called “Kate Plus 8,” aired from 2015 to 2017.

Collin was sent to Fairmount Behavioral Health Institute in 2016 at the age of 12 for alleged behavioral issues. After two years at the facility, he reached out to Jon, 48.

Jon subsequently obtained sole physical custody of his son, with Hannah eventually opting to live with her father, as well. A family rift developed, with the five children living with Kate seemingly siding with her.

During a 2019 appearance on “The Dr. Oz Show,” Jon alleged that Kate had “institutionalized [Collin] without a diagnosis and then created a diagnosis” — something Jon said she did “against his rights” as a father.

Collin subsequently accused his mother of abuse in a 2024 interview with the Sun, alleging that she zip-tied and locked him in a basement.

Through an attorney, Kate denied that she “intentionally” harmed him, telling the Sun that she “did what she did to protect herself and her family” from her son’s alleged “troubled behavior.”

And in a now-deleted social media statement, Kate said that Collin’s “brothers and sisters and I have not been directly involved in his life due to his history of unpredictable behavior and violent tendencies towards us.”

During her recent TikTok, she loaded the dishwasher after a 12-hour day as a home healthcare nurse, with a fan asking in the comments why the mom of eight returned to the demanding job.

“Honestly? Providing for 8 kids,” she replied. “College funds which I am proud to say covered all of their college and more and LAWYERS.”

She added, “sickening but I was drug [sic] into court constantly and that costs A TON. Sad bc my kids could have a lot more saved and I could have a retirement saved if it weren’t for lawyers.”

Kate concluded that it’s “okay” since she’s “helping other families” while feeling needed. “I enjoy helping,” she added.

The TV star briefly returned to reality TV in 2023, during the first season of “Special Forces: World’s Toughest Test.” After an injury in the first episode, she left the series.
