Kerry Washington Producing Desperate Housewives Spinoff
Walton Goggins to Make SNL Hosting Debut After White Lotus Parody Drama
Kerry Washington is headed to Wisteria Lane.
The Scandal alum is attached to executive produce a spinoff of the ABC dramedy series Desperate Housewives currently in development at Onyx Collective, E! News can confirm.
The new series, titled Wisteria Lane, is described as a fun, sexy, darkly comedic soap/mystery in the vein of the original series, which aired from 2004 to 2012. Similarly, the reimagining focuses on an eclectic group of neighbors with secrets hidden beneath the surface of their picture-perfect, Instagram-friendly lives.
Created by Marc Cherry, Desperate Housewives starred Felicity Huffman, Teri Hatcher, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Nicollette Sheridan, earning seven Emmys and three Golden Globes during its eight-season run. In fact, Marc recently hinted at developing his own revival of the series, admitting he had âa couple of ideas to do itââthough none seem to involve the original cast.
âI would probably want to do the idea maybe in an earlier decade,â he told People in November. âBecause the character I miss writing the most is actually Wisteria Lane. That was the most fun playground anyone in the history of television has ever had, because we owned the whole street. I know that street like the back of my hand.â
As for how far in the past he might go, Marc teased, âThere’s times when I go, âYou know what? I wonder if I could write Wisteria Lane in like, 1966.ââ

Meanwhile, the original cast has had mixed feelings about a possible reboot. In June, Eva told Entertainment Tonight she âwould be the first to sign upâ for a revival, but Teri previously nixed the idea, though she spoke fondly of her time on the show.
âIt was a beautiful place to work up there,â she told E! News in February 2023. âThe actual Wisteria Lane is probably one of the most amazing sets to get to work on. It’s just at the top of the hill of Universal. It really overlooks the whole city. It’s a gorgeous place to go.â
