Khabib Nurmagomedov hilariously confronted Mike Tyson for a KO he scored in 2003

Despite being from two different sports, Mike Tyson and Khabib Nurmagomedov are both widely regarded as two of the best fighters ever.

Although he retired whilst at the top of his game following a dominant submission win over Justin Gaethje, Khabib Nurmagomedov is still regarded as one of the greatest fighters ever.

Also in the conversation as one of the greatest fighters ever is former undisputed heavyweight boxing champion, Mike Tyson.

Unfortunately, though, ā€˜Iron Mike’ somewhat tarnished his legacy last year when he fought Jake Paul in a highly controversial fight, going on to lose by decision.

After suffering a knockout loss to Lennox Lewis in what was a huge rivalry at the time, Tyson was then booked to take on Clifford Etienne just over eight months later.

With the fight taking place in the United States, Memphis, Tennessee, to be precise, it was live during the early hours of the morning in Russia.

This was years before Nurmagomedov started his career as a professional MMA fighter, however, being a huge fan of combat sports, he wanted to watch the Tyson vs Etienne fight live and asked his father, Abdulmanap, to wake him up to watch it.

ā€œYou made me a little bit upset,ā€ Khabib began to explain to Tyson during an episode of his podcast, Hotboxin’.

ā€œI remember, 23rd February, 2003, you were supposed to fight against Clifford Etienne, and it was like five in the morning Moscow time.

ā€œI told my father, ā€˜Please, can you wake me up, I really wanna watch this fight.’ You knocked him out in the first round. I was waiting for this all night,ā€ Khabib laughed with Tyson.

Mike Tyson supports Dana White’s move to boxingTyson has forever been one of the biggest names in the sport of boxing but unfortunately, his time as a professional has come before UFC boss Dana White has made his move into the sport.

White is widely regarded as the best promoter in combat sports, and his move into boxing is very highly anticipated.

And with that, he has been supported by Tyson, who has stated that he thinks the UFC boss will bring something good to the sport, after spending years growing the UFC’s brand.
