The Knuckles sneak peek dropped along with the announcement that all six episodes of the star-studded event series will be available to stream on Paramount+ in the U.S. and Canada on April 26. — Sonic the Hedgehog (@SonicMovie) February 8, 2024 In addition to the action-packed new trailer, Paramount+ shared first-look images and teaser art for Sonic fans to feast their eyes on until February 11, when an all-new spot for Knuckles will debut during the Super Bowl LVIII event, which will feature trailers and ads for several big titles, as well as an alternative broadcast on Nickelodeon, where Knuckles and some of his pals will make a surprise appearance.

As confirmed in the official press release, the Knuckles spin-off takes place between Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (which hit theaters in April 2022) and Sonic the Hedgehog 3 (slated for release in December 2024), allowing audiences to catch up with red-quilled bruiser on his “hilarious and action-packed journey of self-discovery as he agrees to train Wade as his protégé and teach him the ways of the Echidna warrior.”

The series features an impressive ensemble that includes Adam Pally reprising his role as Wade Whipple, Ben Schwartz returning as Sonic the Hedgehog, Tika Sumpter as Maddie Wachowski, and Colleen O’Shaughnessey as Tails, alongside fellow guest stars Stockard Channing, Edi Patterson, Scott Mescudi, Ellie Taylor, Julian Barratt, Rory McCann, Cary Elwes, Christopher Lloyd, Paul Scheer, and Rob Huebel.

Toby Ascher, the series showrunner, created Knuckles’ small-screen adventure with John Whittington, supported by key creatives from the Sonic movies. Jeff Fowler helmed the pilot episode from a script penned by head writer Whittington, while Brian Schacter and James Madejski served as scribes on the other episodes.
