LACES Releases New Single, “American Grime,” featuring BELLSAINT

LACES, aka Jessica Vaughn, and BELLSAINT, aka Caroline Brooks, join forces to unveil their new single, “American Grime,” a song that explores the achievability of the American Dream via Head Bitch Music.

Produced by queer artist/producer Dresage, “American Grime” follows hot on the heels of LACES’ outstanding syncs: “They Say,” which was featured on NBC’s Found, and “Girlfriend,” showcased on Freeform’s Good Trouble.

Along with releasing innovative music as LACES, under her given name, Vaughn is an in-demand TV and film producer and songwriter. Her work has appeared on CW, Netflix, and ABC. Prior to her LACES project, Vaughn successfully released music under the name Charlotte Sometimes, with songs like “How I Could Just Kill A Man” and “Waves And The Both Of Us.”

Charlotte Sometimes was signed to a major label and was a high-flier until she collided with the music industry’s dark side.

Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter BELLSAINT’s music has been featured in Riverdale, The Handmaid’s Tale, and Pretty Little Liars. Citing influences such as Johnny Cash, Stevie Nicks, Dolly Parton, and David Bowie, her inimitable sound amalgamates retro hints with cutting-edge fierceness.

“American Grime” rolls out on a finessed alt-pop rhythm topped by coruscating harmonic textures that intertwine into alluring, undulating surfaces. Gentle, slightly breathy vocals imbue the lyrics with soft, velvety timbres. As the melody takes on shimmering, percolating energy on the chorus, the vocals elevate to exquisitely plush tones.

With its glossy, silky flow and unapologetic, probing lyrics, “American Grime” offers an à la mode brew of delicious alt-pop.
