LeBron James will not be forgetting his 2024 Olympic experience any time soon.
During an appearance on The Shop, which was recorded in Paris during the 2024 Games, James spoke about his experience as a flag bearer at the opening ceremonies and said that being alongside tennis player Coco Gauff was a monumental moment for their community and something that won’t be forgotten for a long time.
“It was an unbelievable feeling,” James said. “It’s something that I will remember forever, my community will remember forever and anybody who had anything associated with the 2024 Olympics in Paris will remember forever.”
James would win his third career gold medal and fourth overall medal in the men’s basketball tournament. He won the Olympic MVP award after averaging 14.2 points, 8.5 assists and 6.8 rebounds in six games.
The U.S. won their fifth consecutive gold medal in men’s basketball, but it could have been the final Olympic run for the 39-year-old. He will be 43-years-old during the 2028 Games, and while they will be in Los Angeles, it would still be a difficult task for him to remain at his current level until that cycle.
As he comes down from the 2024 Olympic run, he will now prepare for the upcoming 2024-25 NBA season alongside his son, Bronny, for the Los Angeles Lakers.
