Lakers predicted to consider high asking price for All-Star, NBA champion wing

The Los Angeles Lakers aren’t done. They are still working the trade and free agency markets to see what other talent they can get to help build around Luka Dončić. One Lakers trade rumor has emerged regarding the team’s chances of nabbing a former NBA champion in a huge deal.

Everyone knows that one of the top Lakers trade targets is Andrew Wiggins. Wiggins would be the perfect wing to play alongside Luka, and he is on an extremely reasonable contract.

According to Lakers’ reporter Jovan Buha, the Miami Heat have quite the asking price for Wiggins.

“The Miami Heat are reportedly seeking a first-round pick, Dalton Knecht, and Rui Hachimura from the Lakers in trade talks centered around Andrew Wiggins”

While this may seem like a hefty price to make a Wiggins trade happen, it is totally worth it. Wiggins proved that he is the perfect second or third option on a contending team during his time with the Golden State Warriors. He was voted to his first All-Star team and one his first NBA championship there.

Giving up a big trade package for Wiggins is worth the risk for the Lakers. Hachimura is worse than Wiggins on both sides of the floor. Knecht hasn’t really proven anything in the NBA. The Lakers’ future draft picks shouldn’t be that valuable with Luka on their roster.

Wiggins is also under a decent contract with a player option at the end of next season. If things don’t go well for Wiggins on the Lakers, they won’t be stuck with him for long.
