Omarion Is A Celibate Man & Here’s Why
Speaking on the ‘Know Thyself’ show, Omarion shared that his desire to halt his intimate bedroom experiences came from wanting “more.” However, he claims that when he expressed this transition in lifestyle, there was some lack of understanding.

“When I decided to become celibate, it was because I was searching for something more,” the B2K member said. “A lot of people be like, ‘Oh, he young, he on top of the world, he just put out an album, his number one album. Like you ain’t out here f**king?’ And I’m like, ‘Nah,’ it’s more to life than that. It allowed me to kind of step out of their world [of] being a sex symbol.”

Additionally, Omarion shared that he believes becoming celibate allowed him to prepare for his “contribution” to music. In the clip reshared by The Shade Room, the singer dived deeper into what influenced him to control the “urge of sex.”

“I just found myself in that position of wanting to understand my energy. Give myself time to grow. I knew that if I could control two areas of my life, which is food and the urge of sex, then nothing can stop me, ” O said on ‘Know Thyself.’

See what he said on the topic below.

The R&B crooner didn’t clarify when his celibacy journey began, whether it’s ongoing, or if he has experienced any lapses. One thing we know for sure is that lack of sexual experiences hasn’t always been O’s lifestyle.

For one, he shares two children—Megaa Omari and A’mei Kazuko—with his former girlfriend, Apryl Jones. In May, she clarified that they share custody of their kids but that they co-parent well together, per Hot 97.  Moreover, last year, he revealed that he had previously participated in a polyamorous relationship, per VIBE.

Of course, we must also consider his time as a teen heartthrob during the peak of B2K, from the late 1990s until 2004.

Three Celebrities Who’ve Also Opened Up About Being Celibate
Back in May, Lenny Kravitz went viral after revealing that he hadn’t been in a serious relationship in nine years. He added that he’s continuing to refrain from sexual acts until he finds his partner. Soon after the ‘The Guardian’ interview started trending, Ice-T called Kravitz’s choice “weirdo sh*t.”

Meanwhile, Omarion added in during his ‘Know Thyself’ interview that his first reaction to Kravitz’s celibacy journey was “Wow.”

A month before, in April, Tiffany Haddish told PEOPLE that she was six months sober and celibate. The life update came after cops bagged the actress in 2022 and 2023 for DUIs (driving under the influence). At the time, she said she was still dating. But with liquor out of the way, she admitted to being able to avoid “waking up next to ugly men.”

Last month, though, Mya really gagged social media when she shared her seven-year celibacy journey. The lifestyle choice came along with her decision to become vegan and stop drinking alcohol. Being celibate has allowed her to obtain “mental clarity,” Mya told Angela Yee on her ‘Way Up’ radio show.
