League of Legends Tier List 14.19 Best Champions for Solo Queue

The best champions to play in our complete League of Legends tier list 14.19.

Climb the ranks with the strongest champions to play in League of Legends 14.19.

League of Legends has introduced 168 playable characters since its initial release in 2009. Since then, the meta has regularly evolved, with a new major update every 2 weeks.

The most popular champions in the game change often, especially during big-ticket esports events, making it hard for new players to get into League’s competitive mode. So we created the definitive list for the best champions to pick in the latest update (14.19)!

Learn the Best League of Legends Champions for Solo Queue in our tier list below!

LoL Tier List 14.19
Our comprehensive tier list covers the most consistent champions used from Low to High Elo. Champions are further separated by their roles.

Here’s what each ranking means:

S – The best champions to learn right now
A – Great champions that are strong and are easy to win with
B – Viable picks that are worth considering in Ranked

We based our rankings on the latest data on winrate in all tiers of play and included some popular standouts. That said, take these lists with a grain of salt. Any champion can be S-tier as long as you’re having fun.

Top Lane

Tier
Champions

S (God picks)
Nasus, Gragas, Darius, Volibear, Ornn, Gwen, Tahm Kench, Malphite, Mordekaiser, Cho’Gath, Udyr, Zac, Shen, Warwick, Sett, Yorick

A (Powerful in 14.19)
Sion, Fiora, Olaf, Jax, Aatrox, Riven, Dr. Mundo, Vladmir, Ryze, Sylas, Poppy

B (Great picks)
Garen, WUkong, Renekton, Jayce, Teemo, Gnar, Pantheon, Yone, Gangplank

Tank priority is up in LoL patch 14.19. With items like Sundered Sky and Black Cleaver losing stats, top lane champs that rely on HP and Armor builds are stronger than ever.

Among them is Nasus, who only builds Trinity Force before transitioning into tank items that were relatively untouched in this patch (ie. Frozen Heart, Spirit Visage). On the other hand, Garen — another popular tank top champ — is falling off in 14.19 due to stat changes on Stridebreaker and Mortal Reminder (two of his core items) bumping him down to B in favor of better picks.

K’Sante is in a unique spot after his hotfix buff, so we’re keeping him out of our tier list for now. But expect Volibear, Nasus, and Mordekaiser to take over Baron-side in the meantime.

Jungle

Tier
Champions

S (God picks)
Briar, Ekko, Fiddlesticks, Kha’zix, Lee Sin, Nocturne, Skarner, Shyvana, Udyr, Viego, Volibear.

A (Powerful in 14.19)
Amumu, Bel’Veth, Diana, Graves, Gwen, Hecarim, Kayn, Kindred, Lillia, Master Yi, Morgana, Nunu, Shaco, Warwick, Zac, Zed.

B (Great picks)
Brand, Elise, Evelynn, Gragas, Ivern, Jarvan, Jax, Karthus, Nidalee, Poppy, Rammus, Rek’sai, Sejuani, Taliyah, Talon, Vi, Wukong, Xin Zhao.

The latest item nerfs have bumped a few hard hitters down our list. That said, tanky picks and scaling champs are now dominating the meta.

With Sterak’s Gage nerfed, Skarner’s suffered relatively less than his jungler peers, making the Primordial Sovereign the better pick in 14.19. Moreover, Amumu’s latest nerfs impact his winrate past the laning phase, so we’re putting him at A-tier for now.

Lastly, we’re taking Rengar off our list due to the new Tank meta. Running Serylda’s Grudge and Hubris just isn’t going to work if the frontline is consistently better at peeling for their team. But that can change in a future update.

Mid Lane

Tier
Champions

S (God picks)
Anivia, Annie, Galio, Hwei, Kassadin, Lux, Naafiri, Nasus, Sylas, Taliyah,Vel’koz, Vex, Yone.

A (Powerful in 14.19)
Ahri, Aurelion Sol, Brand, Diana, Ekko, Katarina, Leblanc, Lissandra, Neeko, Syndra, Talon, Twisted Fate, Yasuo, Zoe.

B (Great picks)
Akali, Akshan, Azir, Cassiopeia, Fizz, Irelia, Malzahar, Orianna, Pantheon, Qiyana, Ryze, Veigar, Viktor, Vladimir, Xerath, Ziggs.

Mages thrive thanks to the fighter/ADC item nerfs in patch 14.19. Champs like Kassadin and Hwei both saw a sharp increase in winrate after the last update

It’s never been a better time to start playing squishy magicians in League. That said, tanky mid champs will also see some use in the next two weeks. So expect Nasus, Galio, and Swain to take center stage as well.

ADC

Tier
Champions

S (God picks)
Caitlyn, Jhin, Jinx, Kai’sa.

A (Powerful in 14.19)
Ashe, Brand, Draven, Karthus, Kog’maw, Miss Fortune, Nilah, Smolder, Twitch, Zeri.

B (Great picks)
Aphelios, Ezreal, Kalista, Lucian, Samira, Sivir, Tristana, Varus, Vayne, Xayah, Ziggs.

While the Fleet Footwork nerfs directly impact her threat in 14.19, First Strike Caitlyn shows a lot of promise, so expect the Sheriff of Piltover to be a priority pick in solo queue. That said, champs like Exreal is taking a back seat in the B-tier due to the small minus on his base AD.

Support

Tier
Champions

S (God picks)
Janna, Leona, Nami, Poppy, Pyke, Senna, Seraphine, Rell.

A (Powerful in 14.19)
Blitzcrank, Karma, Lulu, Milio, Nautilus, Rakan, Sona, Soraka, Taric.

B (Great picks)
Alistar, Amumu, Bard, Brand, Braum, Hwei, Lux, Maokai, Morgana, Neeko, Renata Glasc, Skarner, Vel’koz, Xerath, Yuumi, Zilean, Zyra.

With the item nerfs going around, only a few melee Supports are worth playing in 14.19, putting versatile champs like Leona and Rell up for their early crowd-control. Riot dialled Senna back for this update, but we don’t expect changes to her heal to impact her value much, especially if you’re rushing Cleaver.
