A Leeds fan fell from the top tier at Stamford Bridge after celebrating their opening goal against Chelsea on Wednesday night.

Medical personnel were rushed to the scene after a fan in the away end at Stamford Bridge fell off the top tier into the crowd below.

Mateo Joseph’s opening goal in the eighth minute sparked wild scenes in the Shed End where the travelling Leeds fans were situated.

And that included in the upper tier, where one fan fell into the supporters below where thousands sat.

Medics rushed to the scene as quickly as they could with the fan being taken to hospital and taken out of the ground.

Fans nearby looked shocked before applauding as the supporter was escorted away.

Leeds fans had travelled down in their thousands from Yorkshire to Stamford Bridge where there is a huge rivalry with Chelsea.

Whites boss Daniel Farke was concerned with the fan’s wellbeing and wished him well in his post-match press conference.

As the Blues tried to play out from the back, Axel Disasi gave the ball away and Leeds latched on immediately to take an early lead.

Chelsea struck back before half-time with goals from Nicolas Jackson and Mykhailo Mudryk with Mauricio Pochettino ringing the changes from his losing side on Sunday in the Carabao Cup final.

However, Joseph struck again to equalise on the hour mark in an FA Cup bonanza with Pochettino turning to his multi-million-pound bench including Ben Chilwell and Cole Palmer.

Conor Gallagher came off the bench to net the last-gasp winner in the 90th minute to spare Mauricio Pochettino’s blushes and get them back to winning ways.
