Due to her parents decision, Libby is forced to move from her suburban home to downtown Chicago, where everything is new. Its summer, so Libby cannot find the comfort of her school chums and the only neighborhood shes ever known. Her new environment makes her bored and lonely until she becomes a pet nanny.

Leisa Braband is in her mid-sixties and still doesnt know what she wants to be when she grows up. Shes been a music teacher, dishwasher, donut maker, tutor, administrative assistant, legal secretary, nonprofit association executive, realtor, wine seller, political campaign worker, event coordinator, dry cleaner clerk, and pet sitter. Of all these career choices, pet sitter is her favorite (mainly because her clients couldnt talk back). Whats next? she ponders. Hmm Maybe an author?
