Leslie Bibb and Sam Rockwell: A Complete Relationship Timeline
Sometimes, the most successful relationships in Hollywood are the ones you hear the least about. Case in point: Leslie Bibb and Sam Rockwell, who have been together for 18 years, which is practically a record in Hollywood.
While Rockwell is known for playing George W. Bush in Vice and Dixon in Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri (for which he won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor in 2018), Bibb is having a major moment for starring in season three of The White Lotus, where she plays one of the three clueless white women frenemies. You might also recognize her from Palm Royale or the Iron Man movies.
Perhaps part of the reason that this relationship has made it so long with so little public scrutiny is that neither actor has ever become, like, Julia Roberts or George Clooney famous. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that they never (as far as we know) got married or had kids.
Regardless, here is a complete timeline of Leslie Bibb and Sam Rockwell’s rock solid partnership, with the most recent events up top.
July 2024: Bibb posts about reuniting with Rockwell after breaking the couple’s “three week rule.”
“Reunited…and it feels so good…” she wrote in the caption. “Sometime rules have to be broken and our three week rule had to be three months because of our work schedules and gawddamn nothin’ feels as good as being back with [Sam Rockwell].”
February 2020: Bibb announces there’s a new addition to their family! Their new puppy, Gus.
“Just a fella with his new puppy…meet #gus the newest member of the #rockwell clan,” Bibb captioned the photo of Rockwell and little Gus.
June 2018: Rockwell tells Us Weekly about the “rule” he and Bibb have to keep their relationship strong. “We have a two to three week rule and then we see each other,” he said. “You get too independent if it’s four weeks, five weeks.”
January 2018: Bibb and Rockwell walk the carpet together throughout all of awards season, while Rockwell is nominated for his role Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri. At the SAGs, the couple tell Giuliana Rancic their secrets for a healthy relationship. “Communication,” said Rockwell, per E! and Bibb added, “Good sex.” Bibb also recommended a good sense of humor. “Humor is very important,” Rockwell agreed. “She’s very funny.”
Rockwell also took the opportunity to gush a bit about his partner to Us Weekly. “She’s my beloved,” he told the mag. ”She keeps me laughing. … She’s really talented and funny herself. She reminds me of a young Mary Tyler Moore.”
August 2017: An Instagram post from Bibb has fans wondering if the couple is secretly married.
“Buona sera…ti amo…night lovebugs xo-the rockwells,” Bibb captioned her post, which features a snapshot of the two.
2015: The couple stars in another movie together, Don Verdean. This time, instead of a blockbuster mega hit, the couple combined their talents in an indie flick.
2010: For the first, but not the last, time, Bibb and Rockwell star together in the same movie—Iron Man 2.

June 2008: Bibb and Rockwell make their first public appearance together, at the CineVegas film festival honoree awards ceremony in Las Vegas. Just a few months later, the couple walked the carpet together again for the premiere of Frost/Nixon. After that, the dual red carpet appearances are nonstop.

2007: Bibb and Rockwell first met in the most Hollywood of all possible places, the lobby of the Chateau Marmont. Bibb explained to Rosie O’Donnell in a 2012 interview, “We met in like the most cliché place, at the Chateau Marmont.” Bibb was waiting to get dinner with friends, and Rockwell was staying at the hotel while filming Frost/Nixon. “I turned around and I saw him,” Bibb said, “I just smiled and he smiled at me and I thought, ‘Oh no, what’s that?’ Sometimes you just get struck.” Now, we’re not saying we definitely believe in love at first sight but, if we did, this would be the first piece of evidence we’d point to.
