While Lewis Hamilton’s Ferrari move kicked off what is known as Formula 1’s ‘Silly Season’, it was a move that is to take place in 2025. Toto Wolff still had Hamilton driving the Mercedes car for another year. Although it has been a poor season for Toto Wolff’s team, there must have been some relief in knowing they had Hamilton helping with car development. However, in the latest turn of events, it seems Lewis Hamilton’s betrayal of Toto Wolff continues to materialize.

Lewis Hamilton, during the Miami GP press conference, went on to reveal the regular communication that takes place between the Brit and the Ferrari team.

While the move to Ferrari was no secret, Lewis Hamilton went on to reveal he has regular conversations with his future team principal Frederic Vasseur, as well as John Elkann. A disappointing prospect for Mercedes fans and the team, it seems Hamilton is already gearing up for his move to Maranello, as Toto Wolff and his team suffer from the ground effect era.

Lewis Hamilton might have mentioned that his focus remains on taking the fight to the Scuderia this season, it could seem like another betrayal from Toto Wolff’s perspective. It remains the terrible truth Toto Wolff must face and anything added to it just makes it worse. A driver who won 7 world championships with the team will soon join their rivals. However, Toto Wolff tried to remain optimistic about a positive result coming at Miami.

Toto Wolff is hopeful for a better race weekend in MiamiAfter a disappointing weekend in China, Toto Wolff promised fans that upgrades would be coming at Miami. While it will be a welcome addition, introducing upgrades at Miami remains a questionable choice. One saving grace for the team, as seen in China, was the wet weather qualifying. Lewis Hamilton seized the moment and put his car on the front row for the sprint, eventually taking the podium for the sprint. It will be up to him and George Russell to bring points home for Mercedes.
