Lil Baby was apprehended in Las Vegas on Monday (Aug. 26) for allegedly carrying a concealed firearm without a permit. While not much was known about his arrest then, TMZ released footage of the arrest on Wednesday (Aug. 28).
In the video, the âEmotionally Scarredâ rapper offered a security guard $20,000 just to make a call. âYou got a phone?â he asked before urging someone off-camera to come closer. Lil Baby continued, âIâll give you [$20,000] to call this number for me ⊠Aye, security â the Black guy â call this number for me. Theyâre locking me up for a gun, but I got a license.â
âSecurity, f**k your job. Iâll give you [$200,000] a year. I swear to God, security,â he said at one point. âIâll give you [$200,000] a year. You donât make [$200,000] here.â
Elsewhere, Lil Baby could be seen pleading with the officers to let him go, as he had a jet to catch. âWe came here from LA for [James Hardenâs] birthday. I got a show tonight,â the artist explained.
âTake my pants down. Yâall [better] search me good. If I got to jail with a gun, yâall n**gas gonâ die,â he went on to say. âCheck me good. I got a gun in my nuts⊠Yâall let me in that car, Iâma shoot myself in the head.â
Not too long after Lil Babyâs arrest, attorneys Drew Findling and David Chesnoff issued a statement. They wrote, âTo be clear, Dominique Jones has a valid Georgia Carrying a Concealed Weapon Permit. On his behalf, we are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding his arrest in Las Vegas.â
Though he hasnât released much music of his own lately, Lil Baby has been on quite the feature run in 2024. He appeared on Ye and Ty Dolla Signâs âFOREVER ROLLINGâ earlier in the month, preceded by assisting BossMan Dlow on âPJâ in July.
