LittleBigPlanet Erasure Continues as Sackboy Removed from PlayStation Productions Logo

Sacked, boy

Sony appears to have cut Sackboy from its PlayStation Productions logo screen that plays before its movies.

The animation features multiple characters from across numerous first-party franchises, such as Horizon, God of War, Astro Bot, and so on. Sackboy has been a part of the gang up to now, but the latest PS Productions flick has removed him from the logo.

As spotted by @realradec on X, the Until Dawn movie does not feature Sackboy where he usually appears:

This follows the delisting (and online shutdown) of LittleBigPlanet 3, which was previously the only way to play the community’s millions of levels.

Aside from some free, standalone Sackboy costumes which are still inexplicably available on PS Store, the LBP series is largely consigned to history, and the character’s absence from the PS Productions logo is another nail in the coffin.

While it’s a spin-off of sorts, Sackboy: A Big Adventure is the latest title starring the crafty character, and it’s a charming 3D platformer you should check out if you haven’t already.
