Love Island USA Season 6 Reunion: Kendall and Nicole Are Bound for a Breakup, and Every Other Thought We Had

Islanders, the only reunion that matters aired last night on Peacock.

The Love Island USA season 6 reunion gave us (almost) everything we needed. Everyone was there—including the Bombshells whose names we don’t remember and who said less than one word the entire time.

But of course, everyone tuned in to see the PPG (Powerpuff Girls Leah, JaNa, and Serena) and their men (Miguel, Kenny, and Kordell). But also to find out, what the hell is really going on with Kendall and Nicole?

Read on for every thought that three Glamour editors had while watching the Love Island USA season 6 reunion special.

Kendall and NicoleNicole and Kendall discuss a sensitive video of Kendall filmed before his time on the show, which was leaked online without his knowledge or consent. Kendall initially said he had sent the video to an ex-girlfriend; however, it was later revealed that he had shared it on a dating app.

Monique Wilson, editorial assistant: Let’s just start off with Kendall and Nicole. That was really crazy. I was very confused why she had all that energy for him. It was really weird how she was trying to make it his fault.

Channing Smith, designer: To me there’s a difference between, like, lying because you’re embarrassed and confused, and lying when you’ve cheated or done something really bad. She came in hot.

Monique: I just don’t think she wants to be with him anymore but doesn’t want to be the bad guy who drops him after such a violating video is released. I loved how the rest of the cast came in and defended him. They clocked it really quickly.

Channing: I love Ariana, but JaNa was the real moderator.

Monique: LMAO, right.

Channing: She was problem solving.

Monique: But I kinda liked that. I don’t like when moderators are too involved.

Chantal Waldholz, audience development director: Did anyone else think that like….Nicole just does not want to be with Kendall anymore? I think she is trying to be as kind as possible but using this as a way out?

Monique: I forget who said it, but someone was like, “If you don’t want to be with him, that’s okay.”

Channing: I think it was JaNa. But overall I was like, not everyone has to be in love. It’s okay to admit it’s not working.

Chantal: I thought his reason was genuine—like, it’s obviously not great that he lied, but most people would be all over the place if something like that happened to them. You’re not thinking clearly.

Monique: And also she was trying to make him feel bad for going out and living his life.

Chantal: Yes!

Monique: Like, what do you want him to do, sit at home and cry for three weeks? I honestly have so much more respect for him for pushing through it the way he did.

Channing: Not everyone is required to, like, release a statement. Like he was just trying to cope and exist offline/online.

Chantal: Fully.

Monique: I just don’t understand how she has all this energy for him, but then they’re still together???

Chantal: She is not into him. I think she is worried about how people will react to her if she dumps him. And it’s like…do you?

Monique: You’re basically saying you feel betrayed, and he embarrassed you, and you don’t trust him, but he’s still your man?

Chantal: EXACTLY!!!!!

Channing: When he was hyperventilating…I was like, Oh no; he clearly really likes her.

Monique: No, he was literally going to cry.

Chantal: I’m actually a bit worried about him.

Monique: I really don’t see them lasting through the year. It’s already broken. Honestly, it’s more destructive for them to be in this limbo state.

Chantal: It’s just plain weird and unhealthy.

Monique: And I feel like Nicole is using the fact that she knows Kendall likes her more than she likes him to manipulate and gaslight him. Because she knows Kendall isn’t going to scream at her, no matter what she says. He’s just going to take it.

Kaylor and AaronKaylor confronted Aaron after all the drama surrounding Casa Amor and their subsequent breakup.

Channing: Can we talk about Kaylor?

Monique: I love how she went off on Aaron.

Chantal: I am so proud of her.

Channing: That was the Kaylor we needed all season. I was so proud of her.

Monique I don’t feel bad for him at all.

Chantal: She was SO STRONG.

Channing: My girl was done crying.

Chantal: Not him trying to use his grandpa’s death to try and make her look bad. It did not work.

Channing: And I loved how she was protective of Danielle too.

Monique And he really tried to make her feel bad because he went through a loss.

Chantal: I cannot believe he spent all that time with her leading up to the reunion and then dropped a bomb.

Monique: And she clocked it! Like three days before?!

Chantal: I am really so proud of all the women this year. They put each other first and didn’t let a man pit them against each other. It’s a rare scenario—especially when they are that young.

Liv, Leah, and RobHost Ariana Madix shared behind-the-scenes footage in which the women voted to send Andrea instead of JaNa and Nicole.

Monique: I love how Liv is always defending Kaylor, but she was kind of annoying me.

Channing: Liv was very involved.

Monique: Like, Girl, let Kaylor speak for herself.

Chantal: Liv trying to do Leah dirty! We saw the tape—none of what she said happened. But we will talk about that next.

Channing: Backseat this, backseat that—Miss Liv was driving.

Chantal: At least she apologized to Leah. But damn.

Monique: LMAO, well I don’t think Liv ever said she took a backseat. The miscommunication was with Rob telling the blondes that Leah said she took a backseat, which is not what she said.

Monique: I still get Liv’s POV, but again, this is what happens when men get involved in women’s issues. He should’ve just kept his mouth shut.

Chantal: Great point, Monique!

Monique: But yes, I also love that Liv took accountability. Them showing the whole BTS decision making was so real and intense. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a reunion do that. We needed that.

Channing: Wait, I also loved when the producer came in.

Monique: I was so invested.

Chantal: Me too.

Channing: I love seeing behind the scenes.

Chantal: So smart on their end. That’s my favorite part about all the 90 Day FiancĂ© reunions. Producers showing the cast. But also can we LOL about the blatantly placed sponsorships? Pizza Hut, Coffee Creamer, LOL.

Channing: Wait, it worked on me. I wanted Pizza Hut.

Monique: LMAO, the Pizza Hut was so obvious. But same. A little pizza and wings combo.

Channing: Boxes out, full logos, I was dying.

Casa Amor GirlsThe Casa Amor women were also present at the reunion, though they didn’t appear to have much to say

Monique: Thoughts on any of the Casa Amor girls?

Chantal: They were just kinda there? LOL.

Monique: I like that Daia and Serena seem to be friendly. It’s always weird when a girl has “humped” your man, but she seems to be handling it well.

Chantal: That might be the best statement I’ve read all year.

Channing: Same, I thought Daia handled it really well. You made your bed. Hump in it.

Monique: But there were also so many people that just didn’t need to be there, LMAO. That couch was PACKED.

Channing: Cassidy didn’t utter a word.

Monique: Oooooo, wait—Andrea
she was humbled real quick. They shut her down.

Channing: JaNa with the printouts. That was my favorite part.

Chantal: So many of them didn’t speak. Like, justice for the folks who were just…there.

Channing: I hope they at least got that Pizza Hut money.

Monique: Coye with his fake apology in the beginning
like, boy.

Channing: That was so awkward.

Monique: But I hate that JaNa didn’t get a chance to address Connor. I feel like that was a missed opportunity. It was so hyped leading up to the reunion that they had an issue, and Ariana never brought it up.

Channing: Agree, and also like a Leah x Connor moment.

Chantal: Connor just vibed. No attention paid to him.

MW: I still don’t feel right about that whole situation re: Leah and Connor.

Channing: Same. I get that he wore skinny jeans.

Monique: LMFAOOOO

Channing: Skinny jeans are a deal breaker, I get that. But she needed to come clean.

Monique: Wait, so what do we think is next? Peacock is definitely going to want to capitalize on them.

Channing: Leah is my girl. Love Island Games, def. I can see PPG [Powerpuff Girls] hosting something.

Monique: Ooooh, I love the idea of them hosting. Liv on LI Games would be iconic. And Harrison, we gotta make that happen, LOL.

Channing: Justice for Harrison. I was sad when it was over; like, I miss them. But I was like, I’m sure this won’t be the last.

Chantal: JUSTICE FOR HARRISON. I will die on that hill.

Monique: When Ariana brought up Rob and Cassie being “intimate,” she was just like, “Yeah and
now we’re just friends.” Like, she is not pressed.

Channing: She’s real for that.

Monique: Her compared to Andrea. Yikes. You can tell Rob got such an ick from Andrea.

Channing: Even after everything, I fear I would fall for Rob.

Monique: No, he did look really cute.

Chantal: Everyone would fall for Rob

MW: I heard he was wearing an outfit that Kordell’s stylist gave him. He looked good.

Channing: I’m glad Serena made Kordell take the hat off. I’m so happy they’re official. Same with Kenny.

Monique: Same. Kenny was such a silent king.

Channing: So happy JaNa is expecting.

Chantal: Oh, and I loved her ring comment, LOL.

Channing: She pulled out the paper, and then the popcorn. I was dying.

Monique: All the PPG men were so quiet and supportive of their women. I feel like they knew it wasn’t their fight

Chantal: Facts.

Monique: I love that Miguel and Leah are official as well. Now, MIGUEL
fine as hell.

Channing: Same, I wasn’t expecting that, but I’m happy for her. Miguel is so hot.

Chantal: OMG, MIGUEL.

Monique: Something about a man in a SUIT.

Channing: It’s criminal.
