Caitlin Clark is drawing high praise after breaking the NCAA women’s basketball scoring record Thursday night.
Among those complimenting Clark on the impressive feat was LSU’s Angel Reese, who posted her congratulations on X.

Heading into Thursday night’s game between Iowa and Michigan, Clark was just eight points away from breaking Kelsey Plum’s record, and she wasted no time reaching that mark. It took Clark a little more than two minutes to reach the record-breaking number, and she did it the only way she knew how, hitting a deep transition three.

Clark finished the first quarter with 23 points, and her scoring didn’t slow down, as she dropped a whopping 49 points in a win over the Wolverines. She came into Thursday’s game with 3,520 points and now firmly holds the record with 3,569 career points and counting.
Clark and Reese have been arguably the best two players in women’s college basketball over the past few seasons, and the two competed in the national championship last year. In LSU’s win over Iowa last season, Clark dropped 30 points and Reese had 15 as the two competed all night.
Reese paid her respects to Clark on Thursday, but if the two meet again in this year’s tournament, Reese will likely set the niceties aside.
