Luke Littler to face world no.126 as darts sensation returns to action after fairy tale Ally Pally run

Darts sensation Luke Littler will face Hong Kong’s Man Lok Leung at the Bahrain Masters with Nathan Aspinall in his sights next.

The 16-year-old is set to take part in his first event since reaching the PDC World Darts Championship final earlier this month at the Alexandra Palace.

In the opening World Series of Darts, eight PDC superstars take part with eight Asian representatives at the two-day event.

And Littler is set to face Leung, who claimed a sensational victory at the Ally Pally at the World Darts Championship this year over Dutchman Gian van Veen.

If the teenage star manages victory, he could face world no. 4 Aspinall in the next round – with a potential rematch against Luke Humphries in the offing after that.

Littler shot to fame late last year through the PDC World Championships as he reached the final against the odds, beating two former world champions along the way in Rob Cross and Raymond van Barneveld.

Humphries eventually beat him in a gripping final at the Alexandra Palace in a 7-4 win after coming back from 4-2 down.

‘Cool Hand Luke’ was the hot favourite to win the whole tournament before a dart was thrown after a clean sweep in 2023 where he won the World Grand Prix and the Grand Slam of Darts.

But while Littler lost, a nation fell in love with the kebab-eating youngster and a new wave of fans were introduced to the sport.

However, fans might be disappointed to learn that the Bahrain Masters is not available on TV and is instead being shown on ITV’s streaming service ITVX.

Should Littler beat Leung and his next opponent, a potential rematch with Humphries is in the offing should the world champion beat his first two opponents.

‘Cool Hand’ faces Bahrain star Abdulla Saeed before potentially taking on the winner of Price or Reynaldo Rivera.
