Macy Gray Opens Up About Using Ozempic
According to PEOPLE, Gray opened up about her experience with the medication during a recently aired episode of MTVâs âThe Surreal Life.â The 56-year-old was reportedly speaking to her castmates about how Ozempic impacted her digestive system.
âOh boy, my stomach hurts. Iâve just been really constipated,â Gray reportedly told her castmates, reflecting on the experience. âI took Ozempic. I canât go to the bathroom, and I was up all night.â
The outlet adds that during a confessional on the show, Gray delved into her reasoning behind using the medication.
âQuietly, Iâm kind of a vain person. Iâve gained a lot of weight over the past couple yearsâŠâ she reportedly explained. âSo, I thought, okay, Iâm not taking [the weight] off the right way, let me see if I can get one of these Ozempic.â
Additionally, Gray explained that she was trying to lose weight ahead of her time on âThe Surreal Life.â
âI was actually trying to take it off [the weight] before the show because I didnât want to be super fat on TV, but here we are,â she said.
A New Study Has Revealed More Information About Ozempic Use
Amid Grayâs recent comments, a new study has reportedly revealed more information about the potential benefits of using the medication. According to Newsweek, researchers from Case Western Reserve School of Medicine have been looking into the possibility that Ozempic could curb oneâs desire to smoke cigarettes.
Their study reportedly utilized the experiences of Ozempic users with type 2 diabetes, âwho noted a decreased desire to smoke while taking the medication.â
Additionally, researchers are reportedly looking into Ozempicâs effects on âtreating tobacco use disorders (TUD).â However, the outlet notes that âfurther clinical trialsâ will need to be conducted.
Khloé Kardashian Previously Spoke About The Diabetes-Turned-Weightloss Drug
Meanwhile, Gray isnât the only celebrity who recently opened up about their experience with the diabetes-turned-weight loss drug. As The Shade Room previously reported, Kandi Burruss spoke about her experience with the medication in June.
At the time, Burruss revealed to Page Six that she took the drug in 2023. However, it failed to curb her appetite.
âThe sad thing about it is when you see it work for other people and it doesnât work for you, it makes you depressed,â she explained. ââŠIt makes you feel like, âWhatâs wrong with me? Why is it not working for me?’â
Ultimately, Burruss explained that after she stepped away from Ozempic and took a fresh approach to her weight loss, she began to achieve her goals.
