Macy Gray Says She Prefers “Cocaine” Over “Hippie Sh*t” To Help Her Unwind

Macy Gray has gotten candid about how she unwinds, and it doesn’t involve a book or meditation.

The outspoken singer appears on the new season of MTV’s The Surreal Life: Villa of Secrets and in her introduction, revealed that she uses drugs and liquor to relax.

“I just don’t do the hippie sh*t,” she admitted. “Like I live in LA, that’s hippie kingdom. If I’m healing, that’s not how I do it.” When asked what she prefers instead, she revealed, “Like cocaine and a couple shots. Get those edibles down my throat and I’m good, girl. Then order me a pizza and I’m straight. I don’t need all that sh*t; I’m good.”

Speaking of her new reality TV venture, the award-winning icon told US Weekly: “It was definitely new for me. I haven’t had roommates in a really long time. I knew who everybody was but I didn’t know anybody personally.”

The spin-off of the longstanding reality show includes contestants Gray, Chet Hanks, O.T. Genasis, Tyler Posey, Ally Brooke, Kim Zolciak, Johnny Weir, and Josie Canseco.

Much like the “I Try” singer, Hanks also admitted that he indulges in coke while appearing on Bradley Martyn’s Raw Talk podcast.

He actually labeled himself a “f**king cokehead.”

“That’s my drug of choice,” he said. He also shared that at one point, he was doing it so much that other cocaine users had to tell him to “chill.”

This season will see the casted eight celebrities be “pushed to their limits with missions aimed at unpacking their past and uncovering their deepest secrets,” while staying together under one roof in Medellín, Colombia.

New episodes air on MTV on Tuesdays at 9 P.M. ET.
