‘Made me want to vomit’… Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson trashed by ‘disgusted’ UFC legend

A few months removed from the highly controversial boxing fight between Jake Paul and Mike Tyson, and it is still big talk in the combat sports world.

This past November, Jake Paul caused even more controversy in the boxing world when he took on 58-year-old Mike Tyson in a professional boxing bout.

‘The Problem Child’ went on to pick up a unanimous decision win after a relatively passive fight, which subsequently went on to break modern viewership records after being live-streamed on Netflix.

The fight was slammed by several professionals who thought it was a bad idea for Paul to fight someone 31 years his elder, especially considering ‘Iron Mike’s’ health concerns over the past few years.

It didn’t help the controversy when Tyson came out after the fight and admitted that in the lead-up to it, he feared for his life and ‘almost died’ following his ulcer flare-up which resulted in several blood transfusions.

“I tell you what buddy, that (fight) made me want to vomit,” Frye said (h/t garyhgoodridge)

“I was so disgusted with that I had to go home and put in Tommy Hearns and Sugar Ray Robinson and Sugar Ray Leonard and Jake Lamotta, Rocky Marciano I had to watch some real fighters because if I didn’t I’d never watch another boxing match again. That was a fraud,” he continued.

Frye’s way of getting over the disgust of the fight was by watching some old fights from some of the best, however, some other former pros went one step further by calling Jake Paul out for a fight.

What is next for Jake Paul as he continues his controversial run?Since his emergence in the boxing world in 2020, the 27-year-old has continuously split opinions among fans and pros.

Following his win over Tyson, he has been offered the opportunity to fight for world boxing titles by the likes of Canelo Alvarez.

Despite that, though, he recently teased that he could end up fighting Conor McGregor in the boxing ring. ‘The Notorious’ Irishman recently revealed that he is in talks to fight Logan Paul in a boxing bout in India.

Talks then continued and the fight now bizarrely looks to be happening with a $250m price tag, despite Jake trying to etch his way into the drama.

As of now, it is unclear whether ‘The Problem Child’ will fight another retired boxer in a comeback fight, or if he will take one of the many offers to fight an active fighter.
