Man City could accept offer for key player
Manchester City will aim to defend the FA Cup when they face rivals Manchester United in the final on Saturday.Â
The Citizens lifted the Premier League trophy after beating West Ham United on Sunday, becoming the first team in English top flight history to win four consecutive titles.
Manager Pep Guardiola will be desperate to see his side defend the cup at Wembley, and City into the game as strong favourites against the Red Devils.
Despite Cityâs astounding success over the past two seasons, it appears that the club could be willing to sell one of their most important players this summer.
As per Football Insider, the Premier League champions could accept an offer in the region of ÂŁ50 million for midfielder Bernardo Silva.
Silva has played a key role for City so far this season
The 29-year-old remains an integral part of Guardiolaâs squad seven years after joining City, but the report claims that there is a ÂŁ50 million release clause in the playerâs contract and he could therefore leave The Etihad this summer.
Silva joined City from Monaco in 2017 and has since made more than 350 appearances for the club across all competitions, scoring 66 goals and providing the same number of assists.
The Portugal international has been linked with a move away from City for some time now, and appeared to be close to a departure last summer before eventually signing a new contract.
That deal is set to run until the end of the 2025/26 campaign, but the midfielder could depart before if the clause is met.
During his time in Manchester, Silva has won no fewer than 16 trophies including six Premier League titles and the Champions League.
This season, Silva has played 48 times across all competitions including 33 times in the Premier League.
