Man United to prevent youngster from leaving club

Ruben Amorim will be working hard to prepare his side for their trip to face Ipswich Town next weekend.

The 39-year-old took charge of the Red Devils last week, replacing Ruud van Nistelrooy who had been in temporary charge of United following the sacking of Erik ten Hag.

Amorim’s arrival at Old Trafford brings a renewed sense of optimism to United, who have endured their worst ever start to a Premier League season and currently sit 13th in the top flight table.

Off the pitch, it appears that those in charge of the club have made a decision about the future of one of their youngest stars.

As per Football Insider, the Red Devils are set to reject interest in young full-back Harry Amass.

The 17-year-old is yet to make his senior debut for the club but is regarded as one of the most exciting players in their academy.

Amass is yet to make his senior debut for United

He has been tipped to force his way into the first team following Amorim’s arrival, and the report claims that United will therefore not entertain the prospect of selling the teenager.

Aston Villa are said to be interested in the left-back, who previously spent time in Watford’s academy as a youngster.

Despite not yet making his debut for the club, Amass has been named as a substitute on several occasions, including twice in the Premier League so far this term.

Left-back has become something of a problem for United, with both Luke Shaw and Tyrell Malacia having missed the entirety of the campaign so far.

Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui have played at left-back this season, and the report suggests that there could be concerns about Amass’ potential route to a regular first team starting spot.

It is also claimed that United believe Amass to have ‘huge potential’, and it would therefore take a huge offer for the Manchester club to even consider selling the youngster.
