Both teams to score There have been 20 goals scored in the last five meetings between the two sidesBruno Fernandes to have 1+ shot on target Only three players have attempted more shots in the league this season than the Portuguese midfielderJames Maddison to have 1+ shot on target The Spurs midfielder is averaging a shot on target per game so far this season50+ booking points total Both teams are averaging just shy of three bookings per league game so far this seasonTwo sides in desperate need of a victory after disappointing starts to the new campaign come to blows at Old Trafford on Sunday afternoon as Manchester United host Tottenham.

Erik ten Hag’s side are unbeaten in their last four matches in all competitions, but their most recent two games have both ended in draws in games they would usually be expected to win, away at Crystal Palace last weekend and at home against Twente in the Europa League on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils have won just two of their five Premier League matches so far this season, which includes just one of their last four, and will be taking the field at Old Trafford for the first time in the league since their 3-0 humbling by Liverpool at the start of the month.

Seven points from their first five games of the league campaign leaves United in the bottom half of the table in 11th place, but being just four points off the top four, a win on Sunday in a big game could be the catalyst needed to kickstart their season properly.

Tottenham are in a similar boat to United with an identical record in the league but the north London side make the trip to Manchester having won three matches on the spin, albeit with one coming against Championship opposition in the Carabao Cup and one against Qarabag in the Europa League.

Two defeats in their last three Premier League games leaves Ange Postecoglou’s side ahead of their Sunday opposition on goal difference only, but, like United, will see this weekend’s match as a huge opportunity to show their intent and start a rapid climb up the table.

Spurs are unbeaten in their last three matches against Manchester United but are yet to win an away game in the league this season and are winless on their last three trips to Old Trafford, though Postecoglou is unbeaten against ten Hag in his career so far.
