Matthew McConaughey marks 12th wedding anniversary with wife Camila with sweet PDA snap

Matthew McConaughey celebrated 12 years of marriage to Camila Alves by sharing a sweet PDA-packed throwback snap of the pair on social media.

Taking to Instagram Sunday, the Oscar-winning actor posted an image of himself with his leading lady in which he can be seen planting a kiss on her forehead.

“Thank you,” the “Dallas Buyers Club” actor, 54, captioned the romantic snap, adding the hashtag “#happyanniversary.”

In the photo shared with his 9.7 million followers on the platform, McConaughey can be seen donning a beige cowboy hat and a denim jacket that featured fleece lining.

For her part, the Brazilian model, 41, let her wavy hair flow down in the snap, which was taken at sunset.

Alves — who shares kids Levi, 15, Vida, 14, and Livingston, 11, with the actor — reposted the sweet image on her own Instagram account.

The couple struck up a relationship not long after meeting at a club in 2006.

“Out of the corner of my eye, this sort of aqua-green figure went floating across the frame about 20 feet in front of me,” McConaughey told People in 2016. “My eye went up and I remember what came out of my mouth. I didn’t say, ‘Who is that?’ I went, ‘What is that?’”

“As l was trying to get that’s attention across the room, I went in my head, ‘This is not the kind of woman you call over across the room, McConaughey. Get your ass out of your chair and go get her.’ Which I did,” he recalled.

The pair ultimately tied the knot at their home in Austin, Texas in June 2012. Their kids Levi and and Vida served as ring bearer and flower girl, respectively.

Alves told the outlet that the kids seemed “to understand what we are doing on a spiritual level.”

“We decided to embrace the ritual of marriage as an opportunity and adventure we’ll take together,” McConaughey added.

Prior to their move to Texas a decade ago, the family lived in Malibu, Calif. for quite some time.

“We were living a happy life in Malibu,” Alves told Southern Living. “We had a beautiful house that we’d built together and put a lot of love and care into. We were raising our kids there. I was growing everything in the yard. I had bees making honey.”

Alves said that a family emergency prompted them to take a trip to Austin, during which she noticed that her famous husband appeared lighter in Texas than he did in the Golden State.
