Max Holloway Tells Joe Rogan That Justin Gaethje Surely ‘Dropped’ Him at UFC 300 – “I Don’t Know How…”
Max Holloway thinks Justin Gaethje’s knockdown of him in the fourth round, not counting on the official scorecard of their electric UFC 300 clash, is “bulls***.” Gaethje, perhaps the hardest hitter in the stacked lightweight division, caught ‘Blessed’ with a hard right in the fourth round, immediately dropping him.
However, it was adjudged a slip and not counted as a knockdown on the final stat sheet of their ‘Fight of the Night’ winning clash. And no one is more upset about it than Holloway. The BMF title-holder, who defeated ‘The Human Highlight’ with just one second remaining in their fight, spoke about it yet again on Joe Rogan’s podcast and expressed his disappointment at the knockdown not being scored for Gaethje.
While discussing the bout, Rogan asked Holloway, ” [Gaethje] dropped you. He dropped you in what round?” To which Holloway confirmed it was in the fourth round. However, he was flabbergasted that it didn’t count as a knockdown and felt it was unfair on the fan-favorite lightweight.

Holloway mentioned, “It didn’t count as a drop, which is crazy,” he said. “ESPN is like posting it saying like in however many fights I didn’t get dropped. That’s some bulls**. I’ll take it, you know what I mean. But I wouldn’t be a man sitting here and telling you [I didn’t get dropped].”
“Bro, all I remember is getting hit by that punch, and then, like I sat, I came back up and I was like, what the f*** did he just do to me? I was like ‘holy sh***’ that was a good punch… I was fine as soon as I got up… But I don’t know how that didn’t count as a drop,” he added.
Joe Rogan agreed and felt it should have counted, but concluded that “someone just made a mistake.” What do you think about Holloway speaking out in favor of Gaethje after their UFC 300 war?
