Maxx Crosby’s comments on possible Raiders rebuild will fuel trade speculation
Trade speculation has been swirling about Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby with the team going nowhere in 2024, and that speculation will only build after comments the star made about a potential rebuild.
Sitting at 2-4, the Raiders are on track to be sellers at the NFL trade deadline as they look to accumulate draft picks with an eye on the future. But it isn’t clear if general manager Tom Telesco plans on tearing it all down.
As Telesco contemplates the franchise’s future, Crosby made it quite clear he isn’t interested in going through a rebuild.
āI donāt believe in, you know, Iām not here to rebuild, Iām here to win, so, you know, I donāt know whatever that means,ā CrosbyĀ told reporters.Ā āIām here to win now, and wherever Iām gonna be, Iām, you know, Iām gonna be here to win, so thatās all that matters to me.ā
Crosby has made his feelings on a potential trade out of Las Vegas known on several occasions. The 27-year-old wants to remain with the team, plain and simple.
“Come on bro, you know where I want to be,”Ā Crosby saidĀ recently. “You think I want to be anywhere else? No. I got this s— tatted on my body. I don’t want to go anywhere.”
Raiders owner Mark Davis has also said he has no plans to trade his best player in the wake of the team dealing wide receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets.
“Oh no, I want to trade Maxx today,” Davis joked. “It’s unfortunate today, but there’s so much outside chatter that is not true. It’s not coming from any sources. It’s not coming from anything… It’s just not happening.”
While we fully believe Crosby’s desire to remain in Las Vegas, perhaps his tune will change if the team wants to blow it up moving forward. This definitely remains a situation to watch.
