Medeama drop first points in draw against Heart of Lions

Medeama SC lost their 100 per cent Premier League record after being held to a pulsating 0-0 draw at home by Heart of Lions in an ab­sorbing match at the T&A Stadium on Saturday.

Nebojsa Kapor Kapor’s men were looking to maintain their perfect start to the season but were denied severally by an impressive Heart of Lions goalkeeper, Law­rence Osei.

Osei stood between Medeama and a win as he pulled up top class saves to the admiration of the home fans.

The visitors put up a resilient fight to pick a point in the mining town to maintain their unbeaten start to the season.

Medeama substitute, Prince Owusu, hit the post with a thun­derous strike as Diawise Taylor missed a sitter with only goalkeep­er Lawrence Osei to beat.

Winger Osah Bernandinho Tetteh and defender Kamaradi­ni Mamudu also came close but their efforts failed to produce the needed goals.

Hearts of Lions forwards, Kwadwo Obeng Junior and Abed­nego Tetteh, were also an attacking threat for the visitors as the two teams shared the points.
