Megan Thee Stallion Gets Emotional Onstage
On Saturday (June 8), Megan broke into tears while performing her hit single, ‘Cobra,’ at the Amalie Arena in Tampa. A video captures the Houston rapper pausing briefly to regain composure before resuming her performance and delivering her lyrics.
The ‘Realer’ musician’s emotional reaction comes a day after an explicit AI-generated video began to circulate online. As The Shade Room previously reported, the alleged video’s origins are unknown. However, UPROXX notes that the footage gained traction after blogger Milagro Gramz endorsed it on X and playfully encouraged others to watch it.
Megan Thee Stallion kicked off her first headlining ‘Hot Girl Summer’ tour alongside Memphis rapper GloRilla. The femcees officially embarked on their worldwide trek in May. Since then, Meg and Glo have been putting on for their fans by bringing out surprise guests like Flo Milli and Latto.
Social Media Reacts To Meg’s Performance
The Roomies quickly came to Megan’s defense after the video of her emotional performance went viral. Several social media users hoped in The Shade Room comment section to send the rap star love and light.
Instagram user @_rekaa__ “Successfully touring while owning your masters is work well done. Facing the world without your mother and still going while the public against you. She deserve to drop them tears!”
Instagram user @loulabeelex wrote, “At the end of the day, she’s been through a lot in life and success doesn’t take that away. She is still human.”
While Instagram user @bando_britt wrote, “Real time footage of what it’s like to be a woman working through your emotions and still carrying on like you’re ok.”
Then Instagram user @__.prisca_ wrote, “Loosing a parent is forever a grieving process man.”
Instagram user @aaliyahhh_11 wrote, “If you never battled a mental health issue you’ll never understand. Those emotions hit hard at any moment. She literally said to us afterwards she was having a really bad day before the show.”
Finally Instagram user @nicoletinson wrote, “I appreciate how vulnerable she’s been. Watching her healing journey will empower others to embark on their own! I’m rooting for Meg!”
Megan Goes Off On Internet Trolls
Meg didn’t waste any time responding to the alleged AI-generated sex tape video on June 8. She immediately hopped on X, formerly known as Twitter, to clap back at critics for their constant attempts to dampen her spirits.
“It’s really sick how y’all go out of the way to hurt me when you see me winning. Y’all going too far, Fake a** s**t. Just know today was your last day playing with me and I mean it.”
Despite the negativity, the Houston Hottie has much to celebrate and look forward to. Megan recently announced that her third studio album will be released later this month.
