The 38-year-old was hopeful that with a win over ‘Do Bronx’ at UFC 309, he would finally be able to compete for the undisputed lightweight title but he once again fell short.

In the fifth round, Chandler came inches away from scoring the come-from-behind finish as he reigned down ground-and-pound on the Brazilian, which was viewed by the majority at the time as illegal strikes to the back of the head.
Despite that, ‘Do Bronx’ once again showed his championship heart and managed to stay in the fight and subsequently picked up the unanimous decision win.
Speaking for the first time since his performance, Chandler has revealed that he is in ‘the worst pain’ he has ever been in during his long MMA career.
“I had a phenomenal training camp, we went to war, we did our thing, my body, (it’s) in the most pain I’ve ever been in, in my entire life, the most injuries I’ve had in a fight, for sure,” Chandler revealed on Bussin With The Boys.
“I peed blood, inflammation all over my whole body is swollen. New York (commission) drug tested me right before the fight and then after the fight, so it had a light tint (of blood), and then the second one was like beetroot-looking juice,” he continued.
