Isabella Strahan, the 19-year-old daughter of Good Morning America host and former New York Giants star Michael Strahan, is cancer-free.
She announced the news Thursday on her YouTube channel, where she has documented her recovery after being diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in October.
“It was a great, great scans. Everything was clear. Cancer-free,” Isabella said in a vlog titled “Goodbye Hospital.” “Everything was great. I won’t have another doctor’s appointment until October.”
She added that she would miss her doctors, “and everyone who’s helped me.”
Michael Strahan first shared his daughter’s diagnosis with the tumor, known as medulloblastoma, in January.
Following her October diagnosis, Isabella underwent surgery to remove the tumor, followed by six weeks of radiation treatment.
She documented the process, parts of which took place in Durham, North Carolina, at Duke’s Preston Robert Tisch Brain Tumor Center, in 27 vlogs. These included a June 14 post celebrating her last round of chemotherapy.
Isabella told viewers that Thursday’s vlog would be her last hospital vlog until October, but that she would update viewers on her move back to USC, where her freshman year was interrupted by the diagnosis.
