Per Ryan Glasspiegel and Matt Ehalt of the New York Post, the 57-year-old Tyson suffered an ulcer flare-up that caused him to become nauseous and dizzy with about a half hour left before landing on a Sunday, May 26 flight from Miami to Los Angeles. Thankfully, his representatives stated that the former heavyweight boxing champion is “doing great.”
Tyson confirmed Tuesday that he is “feeling 100 percent.”

The fight was scheduled to take place on July 20 in AT&T Stadium, home of the Dallas Cowboys. The new fight date will be announced on Friday, June 7.
Both Tyson and Paul released statements following the news.
“I want to thank my fans around the world for their support and understanding during this time. Unfortunately, due to my ulcer flareup, I have been advised by my doctor to lighten my training for a few weeks to rest and recover,” Tyson said.
“My body is in better overall shape than it has been since the 1990s and I will be back to my full training schedule soon. Jake Paul, this may have bought you some time, but in the end you will still be knocked out and out of boxing for good. I appreciate everyone’s patience and can’t wait to deliver an unforgettable performance later this year.”
Paul then added:
“I fully support postponing the event so Mike Tyson has no excuses come fight night. My fans know I don’t want to face Iron Mike at anything but his best, but let there be no mistake – when he steps into the ring with me, I will be ready to claim my W with a sensational finish. Paul vs Tyson will be one for the ages, and I promise to bring my best for this once-in-a-lifetime matchup.”
The 27-year-old Paul made his fame as a YouTube and social media star but has now turned his attention to boxing. He has a 9-1 professional record, including six knockouts. Paul sports wins over former MMA stars, such as Ben Askren, Tyron Woodley (twice), Anderson Silva and Nate Diaz. His lone defeat came via split decision to professional boxer Tommy Fury, the younger brother of former heavyweight champion Tyson Fury.
Tyson was once the most feared man on the planet, ruling boxing as its undisputed world heavyweight champion from 1987 to 1990. He began his professional career with a 37-0 record with 33 knockouts and four victories via unanimous decision. Tyson ended his career at 50-6 (two no-contests).
