Millie Bobby Brown Switches Up Her Bridal Style With a Minidress on Her 20th Birthday

Millie Bobby Brown has been showing off her bridal style since announcing her engagement to fiancé Jake Bongiovi in April 2023. From the lacy beach dress in her engagement photos to the cropped Giambattista Valli set she wore in front of a neon “Mr. and Mrs. Bongiovi” sign later that summer, the Stranger Things actor has taken multiple opportunities to wear wedding whites before walking down the aisle.

Whether it’s manifesting or a dress rehearsal, we can’t help but love the hints of what her she might be drawn to for her actual wedding day. But if her prior looks teased a lace wedding gown, her 20th birthday ’fit went in a totally different direction.

To ring in her 20s at Cathédrale Restaurant in New York City, Brown opted for a little white strapless minidress without an ounce of lace in sight. Instead, she went for a simple silhouette, topping off the look with a white shoulder bag and a matching white manicure. Meanwhile, her hairstyle also screamed “bride,” as she chose a chic updo and loose face-framing pieces to show off her diamond earrings.

Of course, Bongiovi was also in attendance and shared a sweet photo of himself kissing her cheek on his own Instagram. “Happy birthday my beautiful fiancé,” he captioned the snap. “I love you so much. Big year ahead.” Could this be confirmation that their wedding date is set for 2024? His dad, famed rocker Jon Bon Jovi, did recently joke that he’s paying for three weddings this year…

Despite getting engaged before turning 20, Millie Bobby Brown didn’t grow up with big wedding plans in mind for her future. “That wasn’t my dream,” she told Glamour for her Woman of the Year interview in October 2023. “My dream was to have a baby.”

She continued, “I wanted to be the woman that my mom is to me and I wanted to be the woman that my grandmother was to me. So that was never my, like, intention, to be a wife. But after meeting Jake and seeing, ‘Oh, I don’t have to be this stereotypical wife for him. He doesn’t want me to be that either. He wants me to go and do my thing and live my life, and he will hold my hand in the process of that,’ I was like, ‘Oh, I do want this.’”
