Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams Wild Card Odds, Time, and Prediction

The Minnesota Vikings had a chance to win the No. 1 seed in the National Football Conference (NFC), but they blew it. Instead of skipping the first round of the postseason, they now have to play against the LA Rams in California in Monday’s Wild Card game.

Confidence Might Not Be Sky-High in Minnesota

Even though the Minnesota Vikings finished the season with a 14-3 record, they entered the Wild Card round as the No. 5 seed. They had four more wins than the No. 4 seed Rams but will still have to play on the road.

This isn’t good news for them because the last time they played at SoFi Stadium, the Rams beat them 30:20. It was one of their two losses in away games this season. The other one happened in Week 18 against the Detroit Lions.

The 31:9 loss to their NFC North rivals exposed some defensive vulnerabilities of the Vikings, as well as showed that QB Sam Darnold can be stopped. This was the first time since October that he didn’t throw a single touchdown.

Los Angeles Rams Hopeful of a Good Result

Will history repeat itself? When the Vikings lost their first game of the season, it happened against the Detroit Lions. Next week, they traveled to LA and lost to the Rams. On Monday, they’re coming back to SoFi Stadium, just one week after getting blown out by the Lions.

The Rams feel good about their chance in the Wild Card game, but they need to take this game seriously. Their recent couple of performances were somewhat strange. For example, their offense did fantastic against the Bills in Week 14, scoring 44 points.

Meanwhile, their defense was embarrassing, conceding 42 points that day. However, in the following three games, they conceded just 24 points. What’s strange is that in those three, their offense scored just 44 points.

Starting quarterback Matt Stafford threw for just one touchdown in those games, which is why coach Sean McVay decided to replace him with Jimmy Garoppolo in Week 18. That didn’t help – they lost to the Seattle Seahawks, dropping to the No. 4 seed.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Rams Prediction

The Los Angeles Rams have been chaotic this season, but they’re a pretty decent bunch of players. But so are the Vikings. They’ve been shaken by the loss to the Lions, but we think they have what it takes to bounce back.

This is a chance they mustn’t miss, which is why we expect them to put on one of their best performances of the entire campaign this coming Monday.

Pick: Minnesota Vikings
