Mississippi College Football Player Passed Away Following his Game
Mississippi Delta Community College (MDCC) announced Friday that freshman offensive lineman Emanuell Cooks has passed away due to medical complications following a football game in Mississippi.
Cooks, a native of Elba, Alabama, collapsed after Thursday’s matchup against Hinds Community College in Raymond.
The 18-year-old was in his first season with the Trojans, according to his profile on MDCC’s website.
The college’s statement does not specify Cooks’ cause of death.
“Our entire Trojan family is devastated by this loss,” MDCC President Steven Jones said in a press release. “At this time, our deepest thoughts and prayers are with Emanuell’s family, teammates, coaches, and friends. We will come together as a community to support one another through this tragedy.”
Please pray for the Cooks family.
