They’ll be pleased to be back at Chase Stadium, where they’re unbeaten in their last nine in all competitions. Despite losing their only head-to-head at this venue and still yet to beat the Galaxy in MLS, Inter are favourites for this one. 

That favourites tag, however, owes more to the visitors’ struggles this season. LA Galaxy are on a 15-game winless streak, one that contains a hefty 10 defeats and five draws. Their position at the bottom of the Western Conference is no surprise, having won just three of 25 league matches. On the road, they’re still seeking their first victory in 13 attempts (eight losses, five draws). 

Prediction 2: New England Revolution vs LAFC: Home inconsistencies to continueDate: 08/16Kick off time: 7:30pm ET Our tip: LAFC to Win @ +120 with BetMGMAnother Eastern vs Western Conference fixture dominates the weekend as the inconsistent New England Revolution aim to pull themselves into the playoff contention. Currently sitting 11th with 28 points from 25 games, they ended a nine-game winless run (seven losses, two draws) with last week’s victory over DC United. 

Meanwhile, LAFC are in better shape. They sit fifth in the Western Conference and are undefeated in their last three outings in all competitions. They’ve only suffered one defeat in their previous six road trips, and they fancy playing at the Gillette Stadium as they walked away with a 2-0 victory in their last MLS visit here. 

Prediction 3: New York City vs Nashville: A chance for NYC to close the gap Date: 08/17 Kick off time: 5:00pm ET Our tip: New York City to Win @ +145 with BetMGMBoth sides are in the hunt for playoff spots in the Eastern Conference, with the hosts sitting on the edge in eighth place. With a nine-point gap from third-placed Nashville, this is the perfect opportunity for New York City to close the gap. Three wins in their last four at Yankee Stadium suggest they’re more than capable of knocking over their high-flying visitors. 

Nashville’s away form has been their weakness this term, as they’ve lost six of their 13 away dates. Their last three MLS fixtures on the road all ended in defeat. Additionally, they haven’t been great in New York as they’ve lost three of the last four visits, including the previous two. 

Prediction 4: San Jose Earthquakes vs San Diego: Draw specialists to halt the leadersDate: 08/17 Kick off time: 7:00pm ET Our tip: Draw @ +320 with BetMGMThe Earthquakes currently occupy the final playoff spot in the Western Conference, but with just a one-point lead over Real Salt Lake, they need more positive results. More specifically, they need to convert draws into victories, especially at PayPal Park. They’re on a run of five draws from their previous six MLS fixtures at home. 

Although San Diego top the conference, they have Vancouver Whitecaps close behind. They will be wary of the hosts, especially since San Jose are unbeaten in their last seven league games at home. With two defeats and three wins across their last five games, the visitors aren’t guaranteed three points here. A first competitive visit to PayPal Park may see the sides share the points. 

Prediction 5: Vancouver Whitecaps vs Houston Dynamos: Top spot beckonsDate: 08/17 Kick off time: 9:00pm ET Our Tip: Vancouver Whitecaps to Win @ -150 with BetMGMFour points behind leaders San Diego, but with a game in hand, Vancouver Whitecaps will seek to keep the pressure on with a win against a struggling Houston Dynamo. The hosts had a mixed bag of results recently (two wins, two losses, one draw). However, they’ve won three of their last four outings at BC Place.

Houston will struggle to get any joy from this match, as they are on a seven-game winless run across all competitions (five losses, two draws). Despite registering a victory in their last visit here, their three wins from 12 road trips indicate it won’t be as straightforward this time around.
