Showrunner, creator, and director Rapman’s highly-anticipated Netflix series is finally almost here, with the streaming service dropping a trailer on Wednesday.
Supacell sees five strangers in South London — Michael (Tosin Cole), Sabrina (Nadine Mills), Andre (Eric Kofi Abrefa), Rodney (Calvin Demba), and Tazer (Josh Tedeku) — who develop different superpowers, all while dealing with their own lives, troubles, joys, and dreams. Michael (Cole) has the ability to travel through time, a blessing and a curse, and the core reason he’ll need to bring the five of them together. But there are sinister forces afoot…
And another great thing about Supacell? Rapman (aka Andrew Onwubolu) founded the Supacell Six scheme with New Wave and Netflix, in order to give six Black creatives — Jessica Magaye, Ricardo McCleary-Campbell, Saraphina Mattis, Melissa Simon-Hartman, Cleo Young, and Micheal Ademilua — the opportunity to get into the TV industry.
How to watch: Supacell is streaming on Netflix June 27.
