New EA FC Competitor ‘UFL’ Returns With A Free Xbox Beta This Weekend

Back of the net

It’s been a couple of months since new free-to-play football / soccer game UFL held its first open beta on Xbox, with the game attracting over 1.3 million players across all platforms at the time. Now, it’s back for its second open beta this weekend, with everyone invited to play between Friday, August 2nd and Sunday, August 4th.

UFL received mixed impressions when it landed a couple of months ago – some people loved it and others weren’t so keen. Here at Pure Xbox, we had a fantastic time with the first playtest, as detailed in our UFL open beta review:

Things are changing for this second beta though. Following feedback, the team has made adjustments to the game’s meta mechanics, gameplay and animation features, while also adding a revamped club reputation system, perk system and card skin system. The hope, obviously, is to deliver an even better experience this time around.

If you’re interested in giving it a go, you can head over to the UFL Open Beta page on the Xbox Store to download the game right now. We’ll leave you with some comments from the CEO behind UFL’s development team:

“Weā€™re delighted with the enthusiastic response to our first Open Beta. Now, we are excited to launch another one to solidify the foundation for UFL release operations and ensure future success. It’s gratifying to realise that we’re on the same wavelength as our community. We canā€™t wait to showcase how far weā€™ve come since the first Beta with this new version of the game as we near closer to the launch.ā€™ā€™
