NFL Draft Prospects Packers Must Target After 2024 Shrine, Senior Bowls0 of 3

The Green Bay Packers’ success in the latter rounds of the NFL draft helped accelerate the success in the post-Aaron Rodgers era.

Tucker Kraft, Dontayvion Wicks and Romeo Doubs were all chosen in the third round or later in the last two years.

The Packers could target some stars from the East-West Shrine Game and Senior Bowl in the mid-to-late rounds to further bolster the offense around Jordan Love.

Running back should be the target of a Day 2 or 3 selection this time around with Aaron Jones getting older and A.J. Dillon hitting free agency.

Green Bay has a few other needs to fill, but they can be plugged with three picks in the top 58.

The offensive skill positions could be helped the most by the prospects who shined over the last week at the two showcase events.

The Offensive MVP of the East-West Shrine Game comes with two decades of NFL pedigree.

Frank Gore Jr. was a 1,000-yard rusher in each of the last two seasons at Southern Miss. He totaled 21 touchdowns in that span.

The Southern Miss product could be a terrific late-round selection for the Packers to help start the transition away from Jones.

Jones turns 30 at the end of the 2024 season and there needs to be a succession plan in place, especially if A.J. Dillon leaves in free agency.

The Packers have Patrick Taylor as an internal replacement for Dillon, but it would be wise for them to look into Gore as a potential backup in 2024.

TCU’s Emani Bailey caught the attention of many observers at the Senior Bowl.

“Bailey had the first five touches of the game for the American Team. He had some rather large gaps to run through, but he showed burst and an ability to break defenders down in space. His presence was also felt in the pass game where he was given additional opportunities to make plays in space,” Edwards wrote.

Bailey enters the NFL with less wear on his legs than Gore. He had a single 1,000-yard season at TCU.

The transfer from Louisiana had his most productive season in the passing game in 2023, as he caught 25 passes for 184 yards.

Bailey’s contributions in the passing game could fascinate the Packers coaching staff because they would presumably be looking for someone who can make a difference on passing downs.

Taliese Fuaga, OT, Oregon State3 of 3

Taliese Fuaga was a Senior Bowl standout who could be available to the Packers in the first round.

“Fuaga entered the week as the best offensive lineman at the Senior Bowl, and he didn’t disappoint once players took the field,” Jeremiah wrote.

Fuaga’s ranking sits right in the range of where the Packers are set to select at No. 25.

Green Bay could use a new body on the interior to help protect Jordan Love and Fuaga could fill that role for a long time.
