LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers is gearing up to put on a show during the team’s pro day on Wednesday, and he reportedly spoke with a slew of NFL teams prior to his workout.
According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, Nabers had dinner with the New York Giants on Tuesday night after also meeting with the New England Patriots, Tennessee Titans, New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars earlier in the day. He is also set to meet with the Arizona Cardinals after his workout on Wednesday.
Nabers is set to run the 40-yard dash and showcase his route-running skills for NFL teams during his pro day. He is hoping to set himself apart in a talented class of receiver prospects.
Ohio State star Marvin Harrison Jr. has long been viewed as the top receiver in the 2024 draft, but there is some dissension regarding that belief. Earlier this month, multiple reporters revealed that some teams around the NFL view Nabers as the No. 1 receiver in the class.
Dane Brugler @dpbrugler100% true. Nabers has been viewed as WR1 for several teams since the season. And that says more about Nabers than anything else – he’s a special talent. https://t.co/QEQ2tqZDqs
Nabers was a unanimous All-American selection in 2023 after his stellar campaign in which he posted 89 receptions for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns. His 3,003 career receiving yards rank first in LSU program history.
B/R’s NFL Scouting Department ranks Nabers as the No. 2 receiver in the 2024 class behind Harrison in its latest big board. B/R NFL scout Derrik Klassen described him as “an explosive play waiting to happen” who can lineup all over the field and make an immediate impact when he reaches the professional level. He was predicted to be selected with the No. 7 pick by the Titans in the latest mock draft.
It’s clear that Nabers is already drawing significant interest from teams picking in the top 10, and he has the chance to improve his stock even further during his pro day workout.
