Brock Purdy entered Week 16 as the NFL’s MVP front-runner, but a frustrating four-interception showing in Monday’s loss to the Baltimore Ravens ensured he’s not running away with the award.
In fact, he watched Lamar Jackson steal pole position in the race.
As the league turns its attention to a busy Week 17 schedule, B/R is resetting the updated MVP field.
Along with providing the latest odds from DraftKings, we’ve reviewed two major storylines from the most recent slate. And it wasn’t a positive one for either Purdy or Dak Prescott.

Entering the week, Dak Prescott held +600 odds for the MVP—trailing only Purdy and Jackson.
That dream is fading dangerously fast.
Following a last-second 22-20 loss to the Miami Dolphins, Prescott has dipped to +2000. Although he didn’t play badly—even leading a go-ahead touchdown drive in the fourth quarter—the setback means the Dallas Cowboys are unlikely to win the NFC East.
Not since 2012 (Adrian Peterson) has a player from a non-division champion won an MVP, and only three others in this millennium (Peyton Manning, Steve McNair and Marshall Faulk) have done the same.
Prescott is still in the MVP hunt, given that Dallas mathematically can catch the Philadelphia Eagles. Week 17’s showdown with the Detroit Lions is a potential resume-boosting game, too.
Dak’s margin for error, however, is undeniably gone.
Brock Purdy Falters in Key MVP Battle3 of 3

Right or wrong, Monday night’s showdown likely made a serious difference for a large number of MVP voters.
It was an evening Brock Purdy may like to forget.
Lamar Jackson accounted for 297 yards and two touchdowns in a decently comfortable 33-19 victory for Baltimore. Purdy, however, tossed a career-worst four interceptions and exited the game early with a stinger (which isn’t expected to sideline him next weekend).
The outcome resulted in Jackson vaulting to favorite status, while Purdy dropped to +600 and fell behind teammate Christian McCaffrey (+400) in the order.
Purdy remains a key contender, but that performance harmed his MVP resume at a very inopportune moment.
