NFL Network’s Adam Rank suggests the Saints select CB Will Johnson
Adam Rank of NFL Network published his latest NFL mock draft; however, this time, it comes with a twist. Instead of predicting what teams will do, his latest mock draft focuses on what he believes they should do.
So, when the New Orleans Saints were on the clock at nine, he had them adding Will Johnson, a cornerback out of Michigan, to their roster. This pick comes with prospects like Mason Graham, Teteiora McMillian, and Sheduer Sanders still on the board.
“Don’t be scared off by the uncertainty around Johnson’s unknown 40 time, Saints,” Rank said. “…take a swing on a new potential CB1 whose skill set might prompt someone to take him off the board well before your second-round pick (No. 40), regardless of any speed questions.”
He appeared in six games during the 2024 season before sustaining a season-ending turf toe injury. Johnson faced 26 targets and allowed 16 receptions for 195 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions. Additionally, he gathered 14 total tackles
Johnson is ranked third best cornerback in the draft by PFF and ESPN, trailing only Travis Hunter of Colorado and Jahdae Barron of Texas.
