NFL Power Rankings: Week 7 Edition

Now that Week 6 of the 2024 NFL season is in the books, it’s time for an incredibly meaningful and serious exercise: NFL Power Rankings! What differentiates these rankings from all the others is that they’re THE only truly accurate ones in the entire universe. We use a proprietary system that heavily accounts for vibes. Let’s take a look at how all 32 teams stack up. (Click here for last week’s version.)

1 – Kansas City Chiefs (Last Week: 1) – The Chiefs return from their bye to take on the Niners in California. Super Bowl rematch. No one will be surprised if KC comes out on top once again.

2 – Detroit Lions (LW: 2) – A Pyrrhic victory for the Lions. They got their revenge against Dallas in a big way but they lost Aidan Hutchinson for the season. His absence shouldn’t stop the offense from cooking but that defense will be more vulnerable.

3 – Minnesota Vikings (LW: 3) – The Vikings return from their bye for a huge NFC North matchup against Detroit. Time to see just how legit this undefeated team is.

4 – Baltimore Ravens (LW: 5) – Lamar Jackson could be back-to-back MVP.

5 – Houston Texans (LW: 4) – Big game for the Texans’ point differential, which now sits at +8.

6 – Buffalo Bills (LW: 6) – Amari Cooper is a real nice pickup for the Bills. Buffalo is in a good position to really control the AFC East.

7 – Green Bay Packers (LW: 8) – Jordan Love is heating up. The Packers could be in the process of making a strong push.

8 – Washington Commanders (LW: 7) – Washington entered their game against Baltimore as 6.5-point road underdogs and they lost by seven. So, nothing to really hang their heads about.

9 – Atlanta Falcons (LW: 9) – The Falcons are 4-1 in their last five, with the one loss coming to an undefeated KC team. They also currently have a head-to-head tiebreaker over Tampa.

10 – Tampa Bay Buccaneers (LW: 10) – Who saw Baker Mayfield and the Bucs leading the league in points scored after six weeks? That offense is on fire.

11 – San Francisco 49ers (LW: 11) – Despite an uneven start to the season, the Niners are currently where everyone expected them to be: on top of the NFC West. And it won’t be surprising if they remain there with the rest of the division faltering.

12 – Philadelphia Eagles (LW: 12) – A.J. Brown is awesome. Nick Sirianni is not.

13 – Cincinnati Bengals (LW: 14) – They didn’t score many style points but the Bengals got a much-needed win in a stretch where they have a real opportunity to get back to .500.

14 – Pittsburgh Steelers (LW: 17) – Interesting to see the Stillers are going to Russell Wilson. It’s almost like Justin Fields isn’t actually good?

15 – Los Angeles Chargers (LW: 20) – The Bolts are 3-2 despite scoring just 18.2 points per game. Welcome to Har-ball. The clock-controlling Chargers rank seventh in average time of possession.

16 – Chicago Bears (LW: 24) – The Bears have taken advantage of playing LAR, Carolina, and Jacksonville over the past three weeks. It remains to be seen just how good they are but we know they’re better than the really bad teams.

17 – New York Jets (LW: 18) – Trading for Davante Adams should help. The schedule is also softening up a bit. Not ready to bury them but they’re not looking too scary after three straight losses.

18 – New Orleans Saints (LW: 13) – Four straight losses for the Saints following their red hot 2-0 start.

19 – Dallas Cowboys (LW: 15) – The only two teams that have allowed more points than the Cowboys? Jacksonville and Carolina. Jerry Jones doesn’t like the heat he’s getting after not really attempting to improve the Cowboys in the offseason.

20 – Arizona Cardinals (LW: 16) – Jonathan Gannon’s Cardinals have allowed the fifth-most points in the NFL this season. Arizona has mostly failed to hang with the big boys this season

21 – Indianapolis Colts (LW: 22) – The Colts really needed to beat Tennessee to avoid dropping to 0-3 in division games. But while winning with Joe Flacco is fun and all, what does it really accomplish in the bigger picture? Still need to find out if Anthony Richardson is any good.

22 – Seattle Seahawks (LW: 19) – After starting the season 3-0, the Seahawks are now 3-3. And with games against Atlanta and Buffalo up next, the losses might continue.

23 – Denver Broncos (LW: 21) – The Broncos’ three-game winning streak came to an end as Bo Nix took a step back.

24 – Los Angeles Rams (LW: 23) – The Rams return from their bye to host LVR. Legit chance for their second win this season.

25 – New York Giants (LW: 25) – The G-Men put up a good defensive effort against Cincy. But their offense only managed to muster seven points. They really need to get Malik Nabers back.

26 – Las Vegas Raiders (LW: 26) – Irrelevant team.

27 – Tennessee Titans (LW: 28) – The bad news is that the Titans’ offense is bad. The good news is that the Titans’ defense is good. Former Eagles assistant Dennard Wilson could be on the path to getting some head coaching buzz.

28 – Miami Dolphins (LW: 29) – The Dolphins return from their bye to play in Indy. They might be able to get to .500 before Tua Tagavailoa is eligible to return in Week 8.

29 – Carolina Panthers (LW: 27) – No team has a worse point differential than the Panthers do at -100. The next closest team is at -65. Really bad football team.

30 – Cleveland Browns (LW: 30) – Deshaun Watson is abysmal.

31 – Jacksonville Jaguars (LW: 31) – Doug Pederson is a dead man walking. He’s going to get fired from two different jobs in part because he can’t quit Press Taylor.

32- New England Patriots (LW: 32) – Kudos to the Pats for finally turning to Drake Maye. But the 22-year-old rookie is naturally going to have some growing pains.
