Nick Carter’s sister Bobbie Jean laid to rest in Florida after private family ceremony
Nick Carter’s sister Bobbie Jean was laid to rest Saturday.
The Carter family held a small, private ceremony outside of Tampa, Fla., with close friends and family in attendance, TMZ reports.
It is not confirmed whether the Backstreet Boys member was in attendance. However, Bobbie Jean’s mother, Jane, reportedly gave the eulogy at the ceremony.
A source explained to the outlet that the Carter family chose to bury Bobbie Jean close to her later sister Leslie, who died in 2012 from a prescription drug overdose, so that Jane could visit her daughters regularly.
Page Six has reached out to the Carter family for comment.
As previously reported, Bobbie Jean – who shares daughter Bella, 8, from a past relationship – was found unresponsive on Dec. 23, 2023 inside a bathroom of her Florida home. She was 41.
An official cause of death has yet to be revealed.

While she has a history of drug use and was on probation for theft and drug possession at the time of her death, the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office told Page Six that Bobbie Jean’s roommate insisted she had not used drugs since her release from prison.
Jane confirmed Bobbie Jean’s death last month in a statement provided to TMZ.
“I am in shock from learning of the sudden death of my daughter, Bobbie Jean; and I will need time to process the terrible reality of this happening for the third time,” the statement read. “However deeply a parent feels the loss of a child, the suffering of a young child at the loss of a parent must be much greater.”

Nick also released a statement following his sister’s death via Instagram last week.
“It may take a lifetime to fully process the loss my family has endured over the years – most recently, with the sudden passing of our sister Bobbie Jean. I am completely heartbroken. Thank you for all your love and kind words,” the singer wrote.
“We are reminded again that life is precious, fleeting and to cherish the time we have with the ones we love. I know she is finally at peace with God. I love you BJ.”

Similarly to Bobbie Jean, the “I Want Candy” crooner was found dead inside a bathtub in his Lancaster, Calif., home.
Per his autopsy, the singer died from drowning and the effects of difluoroethane, a type of flammable gas found in compressed air, and alprazolam, a generic form of Xanax.

Angel, the twin sister of Aaron, addressed the tragedy that has fallen over the Carter family in her tribute to Bobbie Jean.
“I know why Leslie, Aaron and now you ended up in the circumstances that you did. I share that pain we experienced during our childhood and I’m sorry you didn’t have an opportunity for a better life,” she wrote via Instagram the day after Bobbie Jean’s death. “I love you BJ, you’re free now. 💔🕊”
Nick and Angel are the last two siblings alive in the Carter family.
