Nicki Minaj Addresses “Explicit” Wardrobe Malfunction in Video of Her Trying Stiletto Challenge
Nicki Minaj couldn’t try this out in high school.
The rapper shared that after trying out the viral stiletto challenge, where social media users try to balance in high heels in a unique pose to her 2013 single “High School,” she couldn’t quite make it happen in her black minidress without showing too much skin.
“Dear Barbz, about that poseā¦. Ummm,” she wrote in the caption of an Aug. 5 Instagram post, which included clips of her attempting the challenge while holding on to a fence, wall and pole near a pool. “This Chanel dress was just a tad shorter than I thought & the thongs definitely didnāt help. Didnāt want to make it explicit.”
Of giving it her best shot, she continued, “Both feet on the ground tho. Ten toes.”
And the 42-year-old also shared that this won’t be the last time she tries out the challenge.
“Ima put on a diff outfit that wonāt show so much skin,” she wrote with several emojis, “& do it again for you guys later.”
Fans in the comment section expressed their appreciation for the “Super Bass” rapper getting real online, with one commenting, “If the Queen is struggling with this pose, who am I??? Love always, Nicki. A Barbz for life.”
Another added, “Omg this is what Iāve been waiting for.ā
But Nicki isn’t the only star to try out the challenge.

After all, Jenna Bush HagerĀ tried it out on a stack of books on the July 24 episode of Today with Jenna & Friends, successfully balancing on her second attempt. WhileĀ Willie Geist told her she made it look easy, the challenge certainly has its dangers.
Indeed, Russian influencer Mariana BarutkinaĀ ended up with a broken spine after trying out the trend.
āI decided to start blogging,ā Mariana wrote inĀ an August 1 Instagram postĀ alongside the video of her toppling off her kitchen counter, āand here I am leaving the doctor diagnosed with Th9 compression bending uncomplicated fracture of the body.ā
However, she has assured viewers that she’s doing OK, noting, āIām doing great.ā
