Nicola Coughlan Had the Classiest Response to a Hater on Instagram

Today in boobs, Nicola Coughlan, a.k.a. Penelope Featherington on Bridgerton, a.k.a. Secretly Also [spoiler redacted] on Bridgerton, a.k.a. Diplomat Barbie, a.k.a. Clare on Derry Girls, has issued a firm rebuttal to those questioning her sartorial choices.

The TV star, who is also Teen Vogue’s current cover girl, blessed her 2.9 million Instagram followers with pictures and video from a photo shoot she did with costar Luke Newton, in which she wears a three-piece ensemble by Ganni: a black silk bra with a matching skirt and blazer.

It’s really not all that revealing, but someone just had to pop into her comments to shame her for it.

“Why is she in her bra??” a commenter wrote, and while, sure, benefit of the doubt, they’re just asking a question, come on.

When someone rhetorically asks why a famous actor wore a designer outfit for a fashionable photo shoot, we know what they’re getting at: A woman showed her body without shame, and it makes them uncomfortable.
