Nicolas Jackson ‘tells friends’ which PL club he wants to join

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson reportedly wants to join Premier League rivals Aston Villa in the summer transfer window.

Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson has reportedly told his friends where he wants to join next. 

The Senegal international has contributed 30 goals and 12 assists from his 81 appearances in all competitions for the Blues, but Enzo Maresca has suggested that he could be sold. 

Jackson was left out of the squad for the pre-season friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and AC Milan, and his future at Stamford Bridge remains in doubt. 

The former Villarreal striker has a contract at Chelsea until 2033, and the Blues are likely to demand in the region of £80m and above if any club show genuine desire to sign him. 

Jackson wants to join another Premier League club

Newcastle United and Aston Villa have been linked with a move for the 24-year-old as they look to strengthen their attacking options. 

Villa are on the verge of losing Jacob Ramsey, who has reportedly agreed to join Newcastle, and they now need to bolster their attacking areas. 

According to a report from Football Insider, Villa are in pole position to sign Jackson, who prefers to reunite with Unai Emery at Villa Park, having played under him at Villarreal. 

Villa value Jackson more around the £60m mark, and it remains to be seen if Chelsea would be willing to sell him at that price. 

Chelsea need to offload players 

Jackson could drop down the pecking order at the club following the arrivals of Liam Delap and Joao Pedro. 

It has been reported that if Jackson fails to move elsewhere before the transfer deadline day, Maresca will happily involve him in the first-team picture. 

Chelsea need to comply with UEFA’s financial regulations due to a recent rules breach, and the Blues would have to sell some of their out-of-favour players to generate funds. 

The likes of Christopher Nkunku, Raheem Sterling, and Renato Veiga are some of the players who are expected to leave the club along with Jackson this summer.
