Niners TE George Kittle (hamstring) doubtful to play vs. Rams on Sunday Sep 20, 2024

Kittle, coming off his second All-Pro campaign, has begun this season with 11 receptions for 116 yards and a touchdown over two games.

If he’s unable to go, it will also be a negative for the run game as Kittle’s long been a willing and impressive blocker.

Eric Saubert and Jake Tonges should see more reps if Kittle is inactive, but the offense will need to see bigger contributions from wide receivers Brandon Aiyuk and Jauan Jennings, along with running back Jordan Mason.

Fortunately for the 49ers, they have an NFC West clash against a Rams team just as banged up, if not more so, than them. L.A. will be without wide receivers Cooper Kupp and Puka Nacua and is also dealing with significant injuries across the offensive line and in the defensive backfield.

The 49ers, with or without Kittle, will kick off against the host Rams on Sunday at 4:25 p.m. ET.
